Car polishing - procedure
Surface impurities such as industrial dust and wood resin can be detected by running your fingertips over the surface after washing the vehicle. You won't be able to remove such impurities with a classic wash, but it will still require a little extra effort, and any "graininess" you feel on your vehicle's paintwork can only be removed by polishing. The polishing process is:
- Car wash
- Cleaning the varnish with clay
- Polishing with coarse, medium or fine paste
- Wash again to remove all dirt
- Application of wax or ceramic protective coatings
All materials used are professional products of the manufacturer MEGUIARS which guarantee top quality and durability!
Restorative polishing of the vehicle (or as it is often called "abrasive polishing") is one of the components of the professional cosmetic maintenance of the car, which gives it a perfect appearance.
Active use of cars is associated with a constant negative impact on the environment. Rain, dirt, dust, resin from trees, bird droppings, stones from the road and other mechanical influences can destroy the color of your car. The use of aggressive alkaline cleaners (in the first contact with your vehicle) destroys the varnish on it, and the use of unsuitable and old, already used cloths acts on the varnish of your vehicle like sandpaper. After such cleaning, your car requires necessary polishing of scratches, and this can only be done at the center of professional car detailing.
Abrasive polishing of vehicles
Abrasive vehicle polishing is a demanding procedure and consists of 4 steps.
Step 1. Preparing the vehicle for polishing
In order to see how deep the damage to the paint is, the vehicle should be washed in the correct way, which implies a two-phase wash. After washing, the plastic parts of the body should be protected, and with the help of professional lighting, every scratch must be visible, so as not to miss correcting it. Special means should be used to remove the oxidized layer, as well as all stubborn contaminants that have caught on to your vehicle, such as bitumen, resin and others.
Step 2. Abrasive car polishing or restoration
Removal of various scratches, blurring, oxidation and damage to the varnish, which occur as a result of exposure to the sun, bird droppings, resins and mechanical causes. Abrasive polishing is done with the help of professional equipment and tools and top quality polishing pastes.
Step 3. Anti-holographic car polishing
This step is one of the most important. This polishing phase brings your car's paint to its ultimate shine, and micro scratches (hologram), 1-3 microns in size, are removed. In this anti-holographic polishing step, the vehicle gets maximum shine.
Step 4. The final stage
The varnish of a polished vehicle is very sensitive and can easily and quickly lose its effect due to any mechanical, chemical influence or exposure to the sun. In order to preserve the effect achieved by polishing, we recommend applying a protective nano coating.
How long does car polishing take?
The process of abrasive polishing lasts from a few hours to several days (depending on the condition of your car). High-quality and safe polishing is a real art and has been learned for many years. After all, the thickness of the paint on modern cars is very thin, and it is easily destroyed by an unprofessional approach. You can entrust such responsible and sensitive work only to real craftsmen who not only know what speed of rotation of the tool they must apply for each individual part of the vehicle, but also feel how much pressure they must apply, as well as which polishing agent they can use depending on the type of paint or part of the vehicle which is being worked on. Abrasive polishing is a very demanding and responsible job that cannot be cheap. Therefore, do not experiment with polishing on your own, but entrust your car to our expert hands!
